How To Prepare For Your Interview
Preparing for an interview can be a daunting experience, but with the following preparation tips we are sure you will go through the process stress-free!
- Examine the job description
We recommend that you use the job description supplied to increase your knowledge of the vacancy. This will give you a fantastic opportunity to sell yourself and align yourself with what the company is looking for, the description can also indicate what questions the employer may ask you.
2. Research the company and the role
Researching the company would be a wonderful way to show your initiative in the first steps of the interviewing process. Mentioning small facts about the company or asking questions shows the employer you are engaged and extremely interested in the role. Researching the role further by looking at other companies and their job descriptions would be a fantastic way to show that you are knowledgeable about the job role and that you would provide the business with new ideas.
3. Review common interview questions
Reviewing common interview questions and planning your answer is a great way to prepare for your interview. Whilst we would not recommend writing a script, having an idea of what you would like to say is an innovative idea. It is important to stay positive throughout the interview, for example, if the employer asked, “Why you are leaving your current company?” focus on the future - you may want new challenges, or promotion opportunities, for example. Here are some more questions you may be asked in your interview:
Why are you looking for a new job?
Why did you decide to apply to work for our company?
How do you handle pressure?
Do you have any questions for me?
4. Review your qualifications and experience
Familiarise yourself with your qualifications and details from your earlier employment/s, make sure to remember any qualifications that would be relevant to the job role you are applying for, and take this as an opportunity to sell yourself! Go into depth about your qualifications and experience and bend this to how this would help you with the role.
5. Be confident!
You need to be confident throughout the interviewing process and show the company you would be a great asset to their team! Believe in yourself; we do!
