Are you familiar with job fraud?
Through WhatsApp and other social media sites, con artists have started posing as job agencies and contacting people. Without any prior communication or interviews, they have started proposing employment roles and even asking for fees.
While we are grateful that it hasn't happened to us, we dread the thought of it happening to one of our candidates or clients.
Here are some pointers on how to identify recruitment scams:
Unrealistic Job Roles and Salaries
The job openings are there to persuade you to submit an application; the roles and wages will appear too good to be true, and they are! The majority of our job descriptions are posted on our website; however, if you want to double check, call one of our team members at 01772 433 358.
Fees
Neither we nor any other recruitment company would ever charge a candidate a fee. This is a clear sign that you are dealing with a scammer if you have been asked to provide them with money.
Links/Attachments
If you receive an unexpected link without a prior conversation, you should avoid clicking it. New candidates and clients typically receive a registration link from our team; however, we only do so after speaking with you. Call us at 01772 433 358 if you have any doubts, and we'll confirm that it's really us.
What should you do if you believe you have been contacted by a scammer?
We advise you to report the number or email address if you think you are a victim of employment fraud and are certain it is not us. If you have made a payment, get in touch with your bank immediately.
Contact our team if you need any additional guidance.
