Different Interviewing Techniques
Different interviewing techniques have been a topic of discussion in Deluxe HQ this week, so we turned to LinkedIn to discover what the industry thought was the best method and why.
According to 79% of respondents, a casual conversation with the applicant is the ideal interviewing strategy. In this method, you might be able to gauge the applicant's character and skill set in a laid-back environment.
A multi-stage interview was deemed a wonderful technique to get to know a candidate by 12% of respondents. This way, you may be able to get to know a candidate and gauge how committed they are to the position by meeting with the employer several times. A prospect is more likely to be interested if they are happy and willing to have several interviews.
9% of respondents said they preferred to interview candidates formally. This is due to possibly being able to test the candidate on their professionalism and how they would conduct themselves in a professional setting.
Here at Deluxe, our staff all have different views on how they would like to be interviewed themselves and what they think would be most effective during the employment process.
We believe that all companies should have a different approach to interviewing their candidates, tailoring the process to the job role that they are interviewing for.
